In Kasangombe our people need to learn good farming techniques. The farmers have often over planted, misused the land, and suffered from droughts that have destroyed the harvests.

Without secure food sources our nutritional needs cannot be met. Many children have died because of malnutrition, and disease preys upon the weak bodies. Recently, because of the help of World Vision, there is hope!

For my maize farm, World Vision provided me with fertilizer to bring nutrients back into the soil. With my new tools and training, I can now properly irrigate my fields and now realize the importance of rotating crops and letting the land rest between plantings.

My family and my village now have enough to eat because the farmers have strong crops. Providing food for ourselves not only gives us healthy bodies, it gives us self-worth as well—strengthening our families and relationships.

Kasangombe Village now has a new storage facility for the community. Together we have food to sell today as well as store for the future. Our children now have the proper nutrients they need to grow and survive. Will you help other farmers transform their village?
